Dr Alex Khominsky

BDS, BScDent (Hons), DClinDent(Perio), MRACDS(Perio)

Dr Alex Khominsky graduated from the University of Adelaide as Dux he went onto work at Alfred Hospital and afterwards private practice in the Melbourne area.

Always involved in the profession through ADA and Societies, he is a firm believer in the power of a community and supporting other early-career dentists in their pursuit to be amazing clinicians.

In light of his experience as a graduate he cofounded an education institution dedicated to the success of general dentists across Australia, General Dental Residency. gDR focuses on comprehensive education through a unique program supported by ongoing mentorship.

He has been a Clinical Demonstrator at the University of Melbourne and has completed his Specialisation in Periodontics back in Melbourne, and now balances his time between Specialist private practice in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, Wodonga and education. He is a committee member of ASP(Vic) and a Study Club Director of ITI (Malvern).

Dr James Tran

B.COMPSCI (USYD), B.DENT (USYD), PGDIP.CLINDENT (IMPLANTS), FICOI

Dr James Tran graduated and first worked in regional QLD before moving back to NSW to be in private practice.

Since 2019, James has demonstrated a deep commitment to continuous learning, completing over 100 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) each year. His dedication to education has allowed him to expand his expertise across multiple areas of dentistry, with particular interests in aesthetics, communication, and full-mouth rehabilitations.

Outside of clinical work, James has a passion for photography. He previously served as a clinical tutor at Charles Sturt University (CSU), where he found great fulfilment in mentoring and guiding dental students.

Now part of the gDR team, James is passionate about education and enjoys supporting the next generation of clinicians as they build confidence, refine their skills, and reach their full potential.

Jana Gudmaling

Events Coordinator

With over seven years of experience across the dental field and corporate landscape, Jana brings a well-rounded perspective to her role as Events Coordinator at gDR. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resource Management and Marketing, equipping her with both operational expertise and strategic insight.

Jana is passionate about education and creating exceptional experiences that support dental professionals in advancing their careers. She particularly enjoys watching dentists progress through the programmes gDR provides and values being part of their journey.

With a strong background in clinical environments and business operations, she seamlessly coordinates events while ensuring every detail is thoughtfully executed to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences aligned with gDR’s mission to educate, connect, and inspire.

Tashia Mills

Marketing Coordinator

With over a decade of experience in the dental field, Tashia brings a unique blend of industry knowledge and creativity to her role as Marketing Coordinator at gDR.

Beginning her career as a dental assistant straight out of high school, she progressed to practice manager, gaining valuable insight into the needs and challenges of dental professionals at every stage of their journey.

Tashia is passionate about education and delivering meaningful experiences that support dentists in advancing their careers. In her role, she leads the planning and execution of marketing initiatives and events, ensuring each touchpoint is engaging, seamless, and aligned with gDR’s mission to educate, connect, and inspire.
